Then and Now: Anderson Hall

This entry of Then and Now features the oldest photograph on the site so far.

Anderson Hall is the main administration building at K-State. It was built between 1877 and 1884. The photograph on the top was taken in 1891 and featured in the first K-State yearbook, known then as College Symposium. The building has quite the history. If you want to learn more about it, K-State Libraries has a whole page dedicated to Anderson Hall’s history.

The bottom photograph is much newer. It was taken this July. Taking a quick glance, it doesn’t look like much has changed. The most noticeable changes are the addition of foliage and the enclosure of the porch area.
